What We Offer

Blue Mountain College offers far more to learners than a standard school environment. While we are intent on academic achievement, we also believe that social, recreational and other skills require development as we prepare all our learners for a successful life beyond school. Being in the country (outside of city life) helps us to achieve our goals through a wholesome and happy upbringing for every child!

Curriculum

Sport

We aim to offer facilities to all learners to engage in some form of physical activity. Our learners enjoy all of the following and more on the farm:

§ Soccer (boys and girls).

§ Netball.

§ Cross country and mountain biking.

§ Volleyball.

Extra Mural

We also endeavour to provide opportunities for learners to further their own interests outside of school hours. Examples of such activities include:

§ Drama club.

§ Art club.

§ Ecology club.

§ Photography club.

§ Reporters club.

§ Outdoor adventures

§ Extra lessons in most fields e.g. music, languages, etc.

Entertainment

Social time is considered a necessary stimulus to ensure children can relax, enjoy themselves and also interact with other people naturally. We set aside specific time for :

§ Movie nights.

§ Pizza nights.

§ Youth evenings - collective fun.

§ Games available on weekends e.g. snooker, table tennis and more.

§ Fishing, swimming and other water sports on the farm dams.
